A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF NBLL LEAGUE DIVISIONS & FEES

Eligibility:  Players ages 5 to 14 as of April 30, 2008 are eligible.  

NBLL offers several divisions for various ages and skill levels.  

Juniors: 13-14 year olds.  Competitive baseball.  Uses 54' pitching rubber, 80' bases & full baseball rules.  Contact Dick Scheidenhelm, VP of Juniors for questions --  rjscheiden@yahoo.com  or 303.443.7542.

Majors: 10-12 year olds.  More competitive than minors.   Tryouts required.  Child pitch.  Contact Joe Lanzoni, VP of Majors for questions -- josephlanzoni@comcast.net  or 303.513.111.

Minors:

  • AAA - 9 to 11 year olds.  Recommended for advanced 9 year olds.  Most competitive of minor leagues.  Child pitch.
  • AA - 7 to 9 year olds.  Recommended for advanced 7 year olds.  Primarily for players with past baseball experience.  Child pitch with some tee-ball.
  • A - 5 to 7 year olds.  Instructional, fun baseball for our youngest and least experienced players.  Coach pitch with some tee-ball.

While the minor league divisions are primarily age based, experience and skill level can also be factors in selecting a division.

Challenger The Challenger Division is a separate division of Little League Baseball to enable boys and girls with physical and mental disabilities, ages 5-18 or the completion of high school, to enjoy the game of baseball.  There is no registration fee for the Challenger program.  See Challenger Program on the NBLL homepage for more information.

Registration fees for the 2008 season:

  • Through March 9, 2008$135 for ages 5-7, $155 for ages 8-12, $165 for ages 13-14
  • March 10, 2008 to April 1, 2008:  $145 for ages 5-7, $165 for ages 8-12, $175 for ages 13-14
  • Children registered after Mar 9 will be waitlisted and may not be guaranteed a spot.

Notes on 2008 Changes:

  • Proof of Residency.  New players or players who have moved since 2007 season will be required to supply proof of residency to player agent before being assigned to a team.   See "Proof of Residency" link under NBLL home page for details.
  • Proof of AgeNew players will be required to supply a copy of their birth certificate to NBLL player agent before being assigned to a team.  See 'Contact  Us' link under NBLL home page for  NBLL mailing address.
  • Fund Raising cards eliminated.  Based on feedback from parents in 2007, NBLL will not use fund raising cards in 2008.  To compensate for lost revenues, we have raised registration fees.
  • On-Line Registration encouraged.   To encourage on-line registration, NBLL has eliminated the on-line registration fee.  We will also accept walk-in registration at tryouts on March 1 (March 2 rain date) and March 9.
  • 12 Year olds must play in Majors.  Little League International rules now require 12 year olds to play in Majors.    Exceptions may be presented to NBLL player agent via petition.  Contact NBLL player agent, Bill Mossa, for details.
  • 9 year olds in Minors.  NBLL will no longer be able to accept 9 year olds in Majors.
